Heatwave Grips Several Regions Across India

As temperatures soar, certain regions in the country brace for scorching heatwave conditions, with mercury levels surpassing 40°C.

In West Rajasthan, temperatures surged to a blistering 43-46°C, while parts of Gujarat and northern Madhya Maharashtra experienced highs of 40-43°C. These readings, exceeding normal levels by 2-4°C in Rajasthan and 1-2°C elsewhere, signal intensified heat stress.

On Wednesday, heatwave conditions intensified in select areas of West Rajasthan, with forecasts predicting its persistence in isolated pockets over East Rajasthan, Saurashtra, and Kutch today. Furthermore, West Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh are anticipated to experience prolonged heatwave conditions from May 9-10.

Additionally, hot and humid weather is anticipated in isolated coastal areas of Gujarat over the next five days, while Kerala braces for similar conditions from May 9 to 10.

As the nation grapples with the heatwave onslaught, it underscores the importance of adopting preventive measures to mitigate heat-related risks and safeguard public health during these challenging times.
