In a surprising turn of events, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has extended an olive branch to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referring to him as “big brother” while advocating for the implementation of the “Gujarat model” for Telangana’s development.

Reddy, speaking on Monday, emphasized that Telangana’s progress hinges on adopting the development strategies akin to those witnessed in Gujarat. He expressed a willingness to collaborate with the central government, underlining the necessity of PM Modi’s support for Telangana’s growth trajectory.

Asserting Telangana’s alignment with PM Modi’s vision of a five trillion-dollar economy, Reddy emphasized Hyderabad and Telangana’s pivotal role in contributing to the nation’s advancement. He also appealed for financial aid, particularly for the metro rail project, as part of the collaborative effort between the state and the Centre.

PM Modi’s visit to Telangana ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections has spurred discussions about regional development initiatives. During his tour, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for over 30 development projects valued at more than Rs 56,000 crore in Telangana’s Adilabad district.

Addressing a gathering in Adilabad, PM Modi reaffirmed his commitment to the nation’s development, asserting that the country’s 140 crore population is akin to his family. He echoed the BJP’s dedication to national progress, echoing slogans such as “abki baar, 400 paar” (this time, beyond 400).
