Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Minister for Sports Development and Youth Welfare in Tamil Nadu, paid a visit to a woman in Madurai who generously donated over an acre of land to the state government for the enhancement of a local school. During his visit, Udhayanidhi Stalin, along with Minister P. Moorthy, Madurai District Collector M.S. Sangeetha, and other officials, conveyed his appreciation to the philanthropist.

The woman, Pooranam, employed at Canara Bank, donated the substantial portion of her land (one acre and fifty-two cents) to facilitate the development and upgrade of a government school in Othakadai at Kodikulam, Madurai, in memory of her late daughter, Janani. The property’s registration was completed in the sub-registrar office in Madurai a week ago.

Expressing her hopes for the government to construct new buildings on the land promptly and enhance the school for the benefit of numerous children, Poornam emphasized the positive impact on girl education. Udhayanidhi Stalin, moved by her gesture, assured reporters that the government would promptly initiate the school’s development on the donated land. He commended Poornam for setting a high benchmark for others to follow.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin also lauded Poornam’s generosity, announcing that she would be honored during the Republic Day celebrations in Chennai.
