Rahul Gandhi has resumed the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which is currently on its fifth day, originating from Assam’s Shivsagar. The journey commenced in Nagaland’s Tuli and continued to Assam, with Rahul Gandhi arriving around 9:45 am, greeted by numerous party workers at Haluwating. Assam Congress leaders received the national flag for the eight-day journey within the state.

Scheduled over eight days, the Assam leg of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will cover 17 districts and a distance of 833 km.

During the National Flag handover Ceremony in Haluwating, Rahul Gandhi emphasized the yatra’s objective of uniting all religions and castes in India, providing justice (‘nyay’), and addressing the perceived injustices by the BJP and RSS.

Highlighting the yatra’s connection to Sankardev’s ideology, Gandhi stressed its aim to emulate Sankardev’s efforts to unite people and fight against injustice.

Rahul Gandhi asserted, “Perhaps India’s most corrupt government is in Assam.”

On January 17, Alka Lamba, a senior Congress leader, urged the BJP-led Assam government not to obstruct the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ in the state. Lamba expressed confidence that Congress, currently with three Lok Sabha members from Assam, would increase its tally to double digits in the state with a total of 14 MPs.
