TNSTC staff protest corruption in transfers

Madurai: Around 1200 members of TNSTC employees association along with CITU protested in front of TNSTC main depot in Madurai against the corruption involved in transfer of employees and other demands including 12 months dearness allowance (DA) arrear and 10 years of pending stitching charges for uniform.

D Siva Kumar, deputy secretary of the association, Madurai division said, “Corruption and favouritism are highly involved in transfer of employees from one division and many of the employees have been victims of the corruption in the system.” Employees from Madurai, Virudhunagar and Dindigul division of TNSTC participated in the protest.

The employees also demanded the TNSTC administration to pay the pending DA for 12 months to the pensioners. Long time demand of paying the stitching charges for uniforms of employees was also stressed in the protest. Later, the managing director of TNSTC, Madurai division had peace talks with the employees and assured that their demands will be considered and passed on to the state government.
