Sushma Swaraj, the External Affairs Minister of India will be attending a co-chair of the India-UAE Joint Commission Meeting in Abu Dhabi whoch will be held on the 3rd and 4th of December.

India and UAE are one of the largest trade partners for each other from many years. UAE is the sixth largest country source of Indian oil imports and even is home to 3.3 million strong Indian communities. UAE and India are also one of the largest trade partners for each other. The Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Navdeep Singh Suri said that they are looking forward to the visit to the External Affairs Minister to Abu Dhabi to co-chair the India-UAE Joint Commission.

This visit of the External Affairs Minister can be the best opportunity for the two countries to share their views on some of the major global issues and even enhance the partnership of the two nations. Meetings and visits like these help to add more and more building blocks in areas like energy, food security, defense, etc.

The External Affairs Minister will also inaugurate a Gandhi-Zayed Digital Museum in Abu Dhabi along with UAE Foreign Minister. This is to mark the celebration of 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth and centenary celebration of the birth of Sheikh Zayed, founder of modern UAE. She would also interact with the Indian community in Abu Dhabi.
