The practical examinations for Class XII students under the Tamil Nadu state board have begun in Madurai district, with a total of 35,263 students participating in the assessments. The practical exams, set to continue until February 17, involve 16,292 students from Madurai educational district and 18,971 from Melur educational district.

The Chief Education Officer of Madurai district, K Karthika, personally inspected the arrangements at Thiruparankundram Government Higher Secondary School. Students expressed confidence in handling the chemistry practical exam, citing ample time provided by teachers for practice.

The upcoming theory exams for Class XII students are scheduled to commence on March 1. Additionally, 35,019 Class XI students from Madurai district will partake in state board practical exams starting from February 19, with theory exams for Class XI students beginning on March 4.

For the Class XII practical exams, external examiners will be appointed by Regional Offices, while internal examiners from the school’s teaching staff will be selected by centre superintendents. In cases where suitable teachers are unavailable, external examiners from nearby schools will be appointed.
