Madurai shooter wins gold at Khelo India Youth Games
8th February 2023Madurai: A shooter from the Madurai Rifle Club representing Tamil Nadu won a gold medal in a shooting event at the national level Khelo India Youth Games 2023 held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. J Melvina Angeline, a Class XII student from Vikaasa School in Madurai, won the gold medal in the small bore .22 rifle – 3 Position women’s category event. Only national-level shooters are allowed to participate in the Khelo India Youth Games, which is conducted by the Sports Authority of India. Angeline has been training for six years and her win gives her eligibility to enroll in the Khelo India programme for free training at Khelo India centers.TNN
